As reported by Levels.FYI, a salary tracking platform, interns at Citadel working in New York City for the summer are currently earning an average of $120 per hour, which amounts to $20,800 per month or $5,200 per week. Additionally, they receive complimentary housing and meals while on duty.
Furthermore, if interns choose to join the company on a full-time basis after the summer internship, they may be eligible for a signing bonus of $20,000, according to eFinancialCareers.
Citadel is of course the exception and not the norm in terms of internship pay. Regardless, many businesses unlawfully provide internship opportunities without any compensation or ability for the interns to get academic credit.
