multibillion-dollar powerhouse. According to Bloomberg, this quarter the number of tech companies going public is set to be the lowest since 2016 and Venture-backed companies that have gone public in the last two years have lost about half their value this year.
Even though we have been hearing about record level demand for workers, how long will this trend last in light of general market trends and more specifically the bloodbath in the technology sector and persisting inflation? Only time will tell, but this is as good a time as any to understand what will happen to your equity in the company if it fails to go public or if you are terminated prior to vesting.
