Breaking B-Schools’ Glass Ceilings

According to Bloomberg, women are making gradual progress in securing top positions at U.S. business schools. Currently, they occupy dean roles in only 30% of the nation's 368 "B-Schools," as reported by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Although this marks a 17% increase from 2007, the advancement remains sluggish. Despite the improvement, there is still a shortage of women receiving offers for tenure and professorships, which are considered crucial for accessing "other leadership opportunities," as stated by one dean. Another dean emphasizes the necessity for a greater presence of "women faculty," while a third highlights the need for enhanced "women leadership in all forms." In essence, addressing this disparity requires a grassroots approach.
